About Us

Who we are and what we do…

Located in Miami, Florida, CinemaTechnic provides Sales, Service and Rental of Motion Picture Camera Equipment. We also design and manufacture unique accessories for Cinematography and perform custom modifications on cameras.

Ours is a small business, similar to a “camera boutique” in some ways. But we don't have the artificially high prices you might find in a fashion boutique. We keep our prices reasonable by keeping our overhead as low as possible. Our goal is to only have the best products for sale and take the extra time to give our clients personal attention and ensure that they are completely satisfied with the products and services we provide.

We're not under pressure like some of the big shops are to push a certain number of used cameras out the door every month, or mark up every repair order to a thousand dollars minimum. If an item is not right for you, we'll tell you, rather than sell you something that doesn't meet your needs.

All used cameras and lenses we offer for sale have been completely serviced. In most cases the cameras have been completely overhauled before sale.

We normally sell only Arriflex cameras, since we are most familiar with them, and we are authorized ARRI dealers for new Arriflex cameras, accessories and ARRI lighting equipment. Our camera technician is factory trained for the Arriflex 16SR and 35-III series cameras.

We specialize in the Arriflex 16S and 16M, 16BL, and the Arriflex 16SR I II and III. We also specialize in the Arriflex 35IIC. We remanufacture the Arriflex Medical X-Ray cameras (similar to the 35IIC) into our own CinemaTechnic 35LM lightweight 35mm MOS cameras.

We have our own well-equipped technical shop with the tools necessary to service the types of cameras and lenses that we sell. We have a complete Richter Autocollimator, and a custom built lens projector, for checking lens and camera optical system focus accuracy. We also have a full set of precision tools for servicing all Aaton, Arriflex, Bolex, Cinema Products, and Moviecam cameras.

We also offer factory trained service for Carl Zeiss lenses. We also specialize in lens repairs on Angenieux, Cooke, Kinoptic, Switar lenses.

Another area of our business is custom modifications. We have a fully equipped small machine shop with a Schaublin 102N-80 Swiss Precision Toolroom Lathe, and a Wabeco F1200E Vertical Milling Machine with digital readout. We have successfully made replacement camera parts as well as custom equipment to 5/10,000th of an inch accuracy.

We take pride in offering our Super-16 conversion service, and evolution upgrades for the Arriflex 16SR. The work is performed by P+S Technik in Munich Germany, whom we feel does the best camera upgrade work in the world. We are the principal camera upgrade dealer for P+S Technik for the Eastern half of the United States and Central and South America. We also provide service and support for all P+S Techink products.
