Carl Zeiss Super 16 Mark II Super Speed primes:
Factory equipped with 80mm front and focus gear. Greatly improved focus scales and mechanical design compared to Mk. I Bayonet mount version. Similar to latest Mk. III version except no gear on iris and smaller numbers and shorter rotation on focus scale. Photo above shows full 5 lens set after CinemaTechnic's overhaul. Note the much easier to read yellow focus scale (feet). Metric scale is kept in original white color and is seen from the other side of the lens. These lenses can be supplied in either Bayonet or PL mounts. The PL mounts are dedicated mounts, not adapters, and are identical to the ones used on the 35mm Superspeed set.
The last generation Mk. III lenses were available new from ARRI for $9400.- per lens. We believe the supply of new Mk. III lenses to be exhausted. Supply of used Mk. II lenses is very limited.

NOTE: The very high cost (nearly $80,000.- USD for the set of 5) of the new ARRI/Zeiss Ultra 16 lenses will probably result in many ARRI 416 purchasers opting for Zeiss Mk. II or Mk. III Super Speeds. Very high demand is likely to continue. |

Since all Super 16mm and 35mm lenses available for sale are manufactured in Europe or the U.K., prices of used equipment will be going up 50%-75% once the existing supply of used cameras in the U.S. is sold. The reason for this is that most of the used cameras that you have seen for sale in the U.S. between 2000 and 2003 at very resonable prices were imported from Europe when the US Dollar's value was 60% higher. Used cameras in the U.S. are now looking very attractive to European buyers. Where do you think most of our inventory has gone?
