Due to extremely lengthy and completely unpredictable delivery times, as well as a level of quality control that does not meet our standards, CinemaTechnic will be dropping the Van Diemen Ltd./ Boris TV product line. As of February 2004, we have a 16S, and a Zeiss 10-100 T2 that has been at Van Diemen for SIX MONTHS without being finished. It is our understanding that the camera is still in pieces with no progress being made.

Kodak introduces new Vision 2 filmstock:
Today Eastman Kodak Co. introduced their new Vision 2 stock in Miami. I had the opportunity to shoot some of the new 7218 stock in Super 16 and showed the results at the demo.
In the past, before I upgraded my 16SRII to Super 16, I avoided shooting filmstocks above EI 200 in order to avoid grain. With Super 16's larger negative area, I found that I could go as high as EI 320 without noticable grain, but I still avoided shooting EI 500 stock.
Now, with Vision 2, Kodak has changed everything. 7218 is a true 500 speed stock with the grain of a 200 speed stock. I wasn't convinced untill I saw the results myself. Now I'm a beliver. The 7218 also has a beautiful natural rendition of skin tones.
This new stock is really going to shake things up. Now you can get superb quality in Super 16 with a tiny lighting package. The Kodak rep tells me this new stock, along with the advances in digital intermediate technology, is genereating a lot of new interest in the Super 16 format.
